Commemorative Calendars
Byron Historical Society publishes a unique, carefully researched calendar every year. These documents serve two purposes:
- To collect and preserve history from the Township. Local newspaper entries from 100 years ago are combed and added to the individual days of the calendar corresponding to the present date. Hundreds of photographs and personal remembrances are added to support the theme of the year. The calendars may have practical application for the current year, but they also serve as a keepsake record for area history.
- To support the work of the society financially. A modest donation is suggested to cover the printing cost and to support ongoing costs such as storage and office supplies. Calendar offerings are our only specific fund raiser.
