Guest Speaker  & Monthly Meeting

The branch of the Milwaukee Road rail line that ran between Iron Ridge and Fond du Lac in the mid nineteenth century, with stops that included South Byron and Brownsville, will be the topic of a presentation coming to the Byron Historical Society by railroad enthusiast, Christopher Lehner.   Following a brief business meeting on Monday, September 16, at 7:00p.m., at the Town of Byron Town Hall (N3097 State Highway 175, Byron, 53006), Mr. Lehner will describe the vital role this 29-mile segment played in the iron ore operations of the Dodge County before its acquisition in 1883 by the Chicago-Milwaukee-St. Paul Railroad.  Admission is free and open to the public.
